I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Just want to do a quick update before I start making dinner…
Brian and I had the chance to visit with my in-laws in Tennessee. We brought Samson along with us for his very first road trip and it was quite a success!
I also survived my very first road trip being preggo. There were uncomfortable moments and we had enough snacks in the car to keep the baby fed. One thing I love about my father-in-law is that he is a photobug like me. Here’s a little portrait of our family taken by him:
He also helped me start my weekly belly shots.
This 2nd trimester is definitely my favorite part of being pregnant. Long gone are the days of throwing up and super fatigue (finally)! Since my pregnancy, I’ve been losing weight and I am glad to say that I am finally gaining some weight- never thought I’d be happy about that. My appetite has definitely increased to the point that I ALWAYS have food with me nowadays. haha
I’m hoping to be able to put up our Christmas decor this week. Have you done yours?
Thanks to couponing, our household has survived without me having to go grocery shopping for over a month now. Although it was nice not having to worry about it, it was time to get some fresh veggies. Lo and behold, Shrimp Stir Fry was on the menu tonight. Instructions: Sautée all the veggies with onion and garlic. Put in the shrimp. Season with soy sauce, salt and pepper. Tada!
This is one of my favorite dishes. It’s healthy and it’s so easy to make. It’s great with rice and you can even substitute the shrimp with chicken or tofu.
I’m also trying to be better with menu planning by using this menu planner I found from OrgJunkie.
Now time to plan out healthy recipes. And oh, here’s some pup and hubby love ❤
My hubby is officially 25! Wooot Woooot!!! I’ve been wanting to throw a moustache party for him since last year & I was very excited to see it finally happen. Plus, his work requires him to be clean-shaven so I thought it’d be nice to at least pretend to have facial hair 🙂 (WARNING: This post will have photo galore)
Here is a slideshow of the decorations we had. Thank you for Pinterest and a big shout out to the girls who helped me: Emily and Kara!
For the photo booth, I decided to use gift wrap as our background- t’was so cheap & so festive.
Later on…we played Charades, Pin the Moustache, ate some food, etc..
Overall, I thought the party went very well. Brian was very surprise (thanks to Spencer for kidnapping him so we can decorate). I was so proud of myself because I didn’t give him a single hint. Brian told me that he had a lot of fun & that he felt very loved. And so, thank you to all those who came & made Brian’s birthday extra special.
Everybody knows getting your wisdom tooth out is no fun business.
I got mine taken out last Monday & I definitely don’t want to do that ever again. I’m just really grateful for such a loving & caring hubby by my side. It made the experience more bearable knowing that I was taken care of. So, thank you so much honey 🙂
Another part of getting your wisdom tooth out is changing your diet to… soft foods. Yum yum?
1) Mashed Potatoes 2) Jello Pudding 3) Yogurt 4) Ramen Noodles 5) Crackers
All I can say is I cannot wait to eat Chinese food and have a piece of steak!
Maybe I’m getting too excited for summer or maybe it’s the fact that our living room is officially blue & it just makes me want to decorate. For now, I can at least be inspired by fashion 😀
1) Blonde & Blonde Striped Skate Dress 2) Nautical Charm Chain Necklace 3)Sailor Lace Up Sweat 4) Proof Bamboo Sunglasses 5) Blue Sandals with Anchors 6) La Mer Portofino Gold Charm Wrap 7) Michael Kors Tote 8) Anchor Sweatshirt
I suppose you can say Anchors are my current obsession at the moment huh? PS: I love thrift shopping and I just want to share a couple of the finds I’m really proud of:
Left: Bass heeled Saddle shoes and Triangle patterned fabric
Right: White Copper Creek crossbody purse
Have a super awesome day! xoxo, Grace
Here’s a great recipe for those days when you just need to whip something up real quick.
Ingredients: Chicken, Bacon (we used turkey bacon), Red pepper flakes
1) Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2) Individually wrapped your bacon around the chicken.
3)Place it on a baking pan & season it with your favorite spice. I decided to spice it up a bit with red pepper flakes.
4) Bake for about 30 minutes or until bacon & chicken is cooked thoroughly.
5) Serve it with rice and veggies.
Easy as pie huh? Dinner solved 🙂
Happy Valentines amigos! Hope you felt loved today if not, well I’m sending you bear hugs all over. So, here are just a few more ideas for our 14 Days of Valentines. They say the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. So why not bake him some cookies or brownies & shape them into hearts. Nom nom nom.
Another fun idea is to play Valentine’s Bingo. There are a lot of printable ones like this one from Makoodle.com and you can use heart shaped candies to play with as well. Since you’re going all out anyways might as well leave a note saying “BINGO! How did I get so lucky!”
Remember it’s never too late to express your love just because “Valentine’s day” is over.
