Brian’s 25th Moustache Party

Moustache party

My hubby is officially 25! Wooot Woooot!!! I’ve been wanting to throw a moustache party for him since last year & I was very excited to see it finally happen. Plus, his work requires him to be clean-shaven so I thought it’d be nice to at least pretend to have facial hair 🙂  (WARNING: This post will have photo galore)

Here is a slideshow of the decorations we had. Thank you for Pinterest and a big shout out to the girls who helped me: Emily and Kara!

For the photo booth, I decided to use gift wrap as our background- t’was so cheap & so festive.

Later on…we played Charades, Pin the Moustache, ate some food, etc..

Overall, I thought the party went very well. Brian was very surprise (thanks to Spencer for kidnapping him so we can decorate). I was so proud of myself because I didn’t give him a single hint. Brian told me that he had a lot of fun & that he felt very loved. And so, thank you to all those who came & made Brian’s birthday extra special.

xoxo, Grace

Howdy folks!

Just in case you’re wondering… I’m still alive!  I’ve got great things planned out for my little blog so stay tuned. Here’s a couple of updates from the Simpsonville:

We’re officially homeowners! I can’t believe one of Brian & I’s dream have come true. It definitely feels good to own our place. You can imagine how excited I am to decorate & learn a lot about home improvements. For the next couple of years this home will be our own little adventure. I hope to fill it with lots of mini Brian & Grace someday 😉 PS: I have to give a shout out to our fabulous & gorgeous realtor, Laura Brannen. Thank you so much for everything!

homeownersThis past holiday was so fun because we got to see our families. My brother Jared, Carissa & her hubby Jordan, & April and her fiance Josh were all in town. We had lots of oysters (my fave!), crabs, crawfish, and shrimp and tons more food.

We also celebrated Papa’s 54th birthday. Let’s just say their living room somehow turned into a dance floor and I mean with disco lights & Gangnam style.papa

And we also had the chance to spend some time with Brian’s family. We had them over for dinner a couple of times at our new house. I’m so glad we closed our house just on time for them to see our new crib. simpson family a

Then, we had the privilege to go to the temple all together again for Tyler’s endownment. The last time my family & Brian’s family were together in the temple was on our wedding day. Tyler has chosen to serve a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has been called to the California San Diego mission. We are very proud of him!tyler

Overall, 2012 was a good year. Cheers to 2013!

Tuesdays with Brian: My awesome coach!

For Memorial weekend & for my birthday, my family & I went on a bike trail.

For my Gratitude Post #3, I want to thank my awesome husband for being so supportive. During the bike trail, he was practically my lifeline. When I got scared, he was there beside me encouraging me to move forward. I will always remember him telling me, “You’re a Daredevil!”

Love, your brave wife

Happy Birthday Lil’ Bro!

We started off our weekend a couple of weeks ago by having lunch at The Conch House Restaurant with the familia…

We celebrated my little brother’s birthday & mother’s day as well. Maligayang Bati Morian!

Sometimes I tend to take for granted how beautiful St Augustine is & how close I am to the beach… to my paradise

I still can’t believe my little brother is 18!!!

It seems like it was just yesterday…

Here’s a few shots with the birthday boy.

I’m so blessed to have a brother like you Yang. I’m so proud of the man you have become. You have always been the peacemaker of the house. The sweetest of all of us & the most loving one. Thank you for always being there for me. We love you bunso!

Love, Ate

Happy 24th Birthday! (Part 2)

OH BOY! OH BOY! OH BOY!!!!!!!!

So about two weeks ago, my handsome husband turned 24 and of course I had to make a fiesta about it. Arrrriiibbaaaa! I had tons of ideas & although some of them fell through, somehow everything just fell into place and Brian was happy which made for a happy wifey 🙂

Unfortunately, he had to work on his birthday & it turned out to be a pretty rough one too. So, I took this as a motivation to REALLY make the rest of his day super awesome to the point that he would even forget about his horrible day and instead party like a rockstar.

Since it was his birthday, I thought might as well let him decide what he wants to do. So, I asked him a bunch of random questions and he was a good sport about it & went along with my crazy scheme.

  • Up or down? Up
  • 5, 10, 15, 20, 25? 15
  • Fast or slow? Slow
  • Hot or cold? Cold
  • Sweet, sour or spicy? Sweet
  • Small, medium or large? Small

So, here’s the situation… I called him on my way out from work to “dress UP”. Then, I gave him a quarter to use as our GPS and told him that we could go anywhere as long as it was within 15 miles from our house. Heads: Right| Tails: Left

Out of all the restaurants around town, Golden Corral was the lucky winner of having the privilege of having the Simpsons for dinner.

As we talked & ate A LOT, I kept trying to figure out how to surprise him with his birthday gift and Brian actually got a little bit anxious too because he started asking me about it. Good thing, I was able to whip something up on the spot. Since I brought my camera & my purse, we decided to take shifts to guard our belongings while the other goes out to get food. When he came back…

Grace: “Honey, can you get me some napkins please?”

As I pretend to have smeared on my hand, he reached out for the napkin holder and…

SURPRISE!!!

I got us concert tickets to see Wilco on May 16th at the St Augustine Amphitheater. Wilco is one of Brian’s all- time favorite band and it’ll be both our first time to go see them live. It’s pretty rare that they travel down South or at least anywhere around Jacksonville so, this is a pretty momentous event. I was so pleased when I saw Brian’s surprise/ happy face- it’s just priceless 🙂

But… the celebration wasn’t over yet! We spontaneously stopped by Best Buy to get Wilco’s latest CD: The Whole Love

Then we got home, I asked Spencer (Brian’s cousin & BFF) if he could dance for Brian and he said yes—I seriously love the family I married into. Thanks Spencer for doing this!

I hope you enjoyed your birthday honey as much as I had fun planning it. Mahal Kita!

Happy 24th Birthday! (Part 1)

Mr. Simpson turned 24 about two weeks ago and we got to celebrate it with my side of the family. I love how my parents treat Brian like their own son. If anything… the spoil him more hehe
